Surplus

Surplus auctions take place at Facilities Management Warehouse #2. Auctions are open to the public. Viewing begins at 7am and auctions start at 8am. For a list of items that will be auctioned off go here.

Reuse of materials is even better than recycling. OSU Surplus has chairs, tables, desks, computers, research equipment and other electronic equipment, file cabinets, and much more! All of these items are available for use on campus and free to any state agency.

OSU employees can check out the Surplus warehouse on Thursdays from 1-3pm or by appointment (405-744-7648).

Surplus is located on Connell Avenue between Willis Street and Ridge Road. From Hall of Fame, go north on Willis, turn left before McElroy and there will be a series of metal warehouses on the right. Surplus items are located in “Facilities Management Warehouse #2.”

Surplus items are for campus use, and paperwork will be forwarded to the Office of Budget and Asset Management.

Items not retrieved from Surplus are sold at public auction every few months. The Surplus Warehouse will be closed the week of an auction to prepare.

If you’d like to be on a mailing list to receive a monthly list of available items, email Kathie Parham (kathie.parham@okstate.edu) or you can download the "Monthly Surplus Listing" from the Asset Management webpage (http://bam.okstate.edu/asset-management) along with further information about OSU assets, surplus and auctions.

If you'd like to list items to be taken away from your department and placed into Surplus, go to the Asset Management webpage (http://bam.okstate.edu/asset-management), click on "Forms," and then click on "Disposal and Transfer" to download a spreadsheet.

Looking to get rid of NON-University property?

Donate to a local charity or look for these end-of-year, collection programs:

1) Real Pokes Pass It On - A program of the SGA Sustainability Committee. Items are collected at the end of the school year, stored over summer, and sold back to incoming students in August. Proceeds and unsold items are donated to charity. A pick-up service for large items on campus is also provided.

2) Family & Graduate Student Housing Yard Sale - A program of the Res Life Family Resource Center, usually occuring in May of each year.

3) ATRS Textile Boxes - Look for large orange metal collection boxes during finals week for shoes, clothing and other textiles.
