Sustainability is the development and use of resources to improve human quality of life now and in the future. It has become a major topic in both private and public sectors in Oklahoma and elsewhere. Quality of life improvement requires consideration of economic prosperity, responsible use of resources, and protection of the environment and public health.
“As a premier land-grant institution, Oklahoma State University is dedicated to the stewardship of the resources entrusted to us. Through its sustainability practices, OSU seeks to more effectively and responsibly serve its university community, as well as the citizens of Oklahoma, our country and the world. OSU faculty, staff and students will advance all aspects of sustainability through instruction, research, outreach, administrative decision-making, innovative design and operation of our physical facilities, and our daily behavior.”
- Burns Hargis, OSU President
Sustainability Stakeholders represent various specialties and areas of campus. As OSU moves forward with sustainability initiatives in teaching, research, outreach, and operations, Sustainability Stakeholders play a key role as collaborators toward these efforts.
